Know Your Name

Damon and Phythias

Initiates in the Pythagorean mysteries, contracted so faithful a friendship towards each other, that when Dionysius of Syracuse intended to execute one of them, and he had obtained permission from the tyrant to return home and arrange his affairs before his death, the other did not hesitate to give himself up as a pledge of his friend's return. [For the two men lived together, and had their possessions in common.] He whose neck had been in danger was now free; and he who might have lived in safety was now in danger of death. So everybody, and especially Dionysius, were wondering what would be the upshot of this novel and dubious affair. At last, then the day fixed was close at hand, and he had not returned, every one condemned the one who stood security, for his stupidity and rashness. But he insisted that he had nothing to fear in the matter of his friend's constancy. And indeed at the same moment and the hour fixed by Dionysius, he who had received leave, returned. The tyrant, admiring the courage of both, remitted the sentence which had so tried their loyalty, and asked them besides to receive him in the bonds of their friendship, saying that he would make his third place in their affection agreeable by his utmost goodwill and effort. Such indeed are the powers of friendship: to breed contempt of death, to overcome the sweet desire of life, to humanize cruelty, to turn hate into love, to compensate punishment by largess; to which powers almost as much veneration is due as to the cult of the immortal gods. For if with these rests the public safety, on those does private happiness depend; and as the temples are the sacred domiciles of these, so of those are the loyal hearts of men as it were the shrines consecrated by some holy spirit.

Trying

I find myself trying to write more these days.

For almost the last 24 hours I've had a house guest. Or apartment guest in my case.

Johnny is his name and watching the trilogy of the Lord of the Rings is his game. That's pretty much all we did although we started out trying to do so much more. But if you've seen one of the movies then imagine how long it takes to watch all 3. I say it takes almost 24 hours!

I'm a bit bored and worn out from all the adventures of the Hobbits, Elves, Dwarfs and Wizards that going any place today seems taxing.

I'll need the day to recover and I've really not left my home!

Just joking!!

The sun finally shines in Fog City making today a great day to run the hills and take new photos so I'm sure I'll get out doors at some point. Just going to wait until the sun sits a bit lower in the western sky.

So until I write again..Peace all!

Something

So I've not been in much of a writing mood recently but here I am trying to post something before the work week ends and passes me by.

Things have been calm and steady my way.

I've been making lots of music and other art. It feels great when my creative juices flow and I'm spitting out completed works of music, photographs, video and art.

My personal life has been interesting as I've been dating. I've gotten closer to one or two people and a lot less closer to most. Meeting guys and managing a dating life is weird and sometimes funny here in Fog City.

But I got to say that I'm happy these days.

The beginning of my summer has started off nicely!

I truly hope the trend continues!

The Last Hero

Tonight is NBC's season finale of the hit show Hero's.

This shall fundamentally change the beginning of my Mondays. I really don't know what I'll do without Hero's to kick off my week!!

Oh well.. I guess I'll have to grin and bear it while waiting for next season to start.

I want to personally thank NBC for bringing such a show into my living room every week. It's been an amazing ride and I hope it has just begun. This is the only time that I've ever watched a show every week. So..Thanks NBC.

Your network has helped me believe once again in Hero's!!!!

Bjork in Concert

Tonight I get to do something I rarely get the chance to do.

I've been invited to see Bjork in concert tonight at the Shoreline.

I got to say thanks to my cute friend Aaron for asking me to go with him. I wish he and I were much more than friends.

But, I digress.

This evening should be a lot of fun for many reasons but mostly because I've not been out to a live concert in a great while.

And well..Because I look rather cute with my blond, green tinted mohawk!

AND I get to feel like a cool-kid by seeing Ms. Bjork tonight.

To prepare I've been preparing for tonight by watching Madonna's Confessions tour DVD.

Now if only I had been able to see that concert..then I would have been a real cool kid!!!!

Feelin' Good

Today is one of those rare days where I woke up feeling good.

Scratch that..I feel GREAT!

Not sure what's going on in my head but I just feel very positive about most area's of my life.

Today I'll be all over Fog City! I've plans to see SpiderMan3 this afternoon and dinner plans with friends later tonight.

Tonight I'm planning on spending a simple evening alone working on homework for the business class I'm taking.

Right now, it's time for me to sort clothes and prepare to do my laundry.

Until I write again..PEACE!!!

Not a lot

Recently, I've been struggling with how much to open up and reveal through this blog.

This was never a worry until I received negative feed back by e-mails which were sent anonymously. These person or persons sent these emails signed by my "friend" yet didn't have the balls to sign they're true names.

These e-mails hurt me a bit more than I thought they could.

People can be brutal and I should be thankful that the letters weren't meaner. Yet, it really bothered me that someone would send me comments this way.

We are all entitled to our feelings and thoughts but to send a letter and then hide your identity is just cowardly.

When I write it's always been about my life, thoughts, feelings and goals. I haven't hidden who I am.

I chose to to be honest and reveal a lot.

So whoever you are.."Phantom Writer"..Please have the balls to show yourself..Otherwise...Please keep your thoughts and emails to yourself. And don't call me your friend.

My friends are people I know..Not people who sign letters "Anonymous".

Relaxing Weekend

I so enjoy the weekends!!

A time to reboot and catch up on sleep and needed downtime.

Currently I'm sitting in my PJ's watching a movie on DVD. Later today I'll hang with friends and might take in a movie.

I'm sure I'll smoke out and maybe make some music later.

Whatever it takes to have a relaxing weekend.

BOBBY: The Movie

If you havn't seen the movie Bobby then I urge,,NO..I beg you take the time to rent, buy, borrow or steal this film.

This movie only reafirms my thoughts and feelings that make RFK one of my personal heros.

Bobby was an angel amoung men!! His ending came way, way, WAY to soon!

My Heart Goes Out To The Victims

The television has brought such tragic news into my apartment recently.

My heart goes out to each and everyone of the victims (and his or her loved ones) of these senseless acts.

The Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights needs to be changed.

We don't live in 1776 anymore and no one needs to have these type of weapons at they're disposal. I don't care what the NRA says!!!!!

This kid was crazy! Why didn't the school do more?

If he was on the radar of the local police why didn't they pay more attention to him and his where abouts? Why didn't the gun shop have access to his run-ins with the courts and law enforcement?

It's shameful more stop-gaps weren't in place that could have prevented something like this. More needs to be done by our goverment to fix these laps in communication between gunshop owners, schools, mental hospitials and the police so that I and everyone don't have to wake to this madness!!

Doing Aiight

The last few days have seen me catching up on sleep and keeping busy with my two jobs.

I've also been trying to get a grip on some negative trends and cut back on my late night adventures.

My back has been a source of pain recently and I'm not sure how this happened. The gym has truly been a missing part of my daily routine. Soon it will be time to get back on the good foot and start taking care of me body agian.

Now it's time for making music..this always lets me know that I'm doing aiight because I only make music when I'm feeling good.

Kinda Down

Things have been quite here as of late.

Can't say I've been doing a lot and I wish there were more to write besides being a bit down and depressed.

There are things I've needed to change in my life and it's about time I start doing the change insteed of talking (and in this case: writing) about it.

I've missed bitching thru writing.

I guess I need this outlet after all. Now..I'm truly back!
